A variety of wildflowers cover the ridges of the Temblor Range at Carrizo Plain National Monument in California, creating a rainbow of colors. Goldfields and hillside daisies turn the hills bright yellow, as purple tansy phacelia, blazing stars, orange California poppies and others swirl their colors through the landscape. It is a breathtaking sight and one I will remember for a very long time. California is known for so many things...but, one of my very favorites is seeing some of our desert landscapes transform into incredible works of art and beauty with the emergence of spring wildflowers!
The Temblor Mountains are located on the east side of California's Carrizo Plain National Monument. The Plain runs from Bakersfield in Kern County up to San Luis Obispo County.
I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
