ROCK CREEK BEAUTY by Lynn Bauer - A bright pop of red indian paintbrush wildflowers make the perfect splash of color along Rock Creek in Mosquito Flats in Eastern Sierra Mountains. This whole area is part of the John Muir Wilderness in the Inyo National Forest near Mammoth Lakes. This high country playground is well-known for it's incredible beauty, and is a back-packer's paradise. It's no wonder this area is gorgeous...it sits on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and on the other side of the mountain sits Yosemite National Park. So, you've got great scenery...no matter which side of the mountain you happen to be on!!

I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset. One of my favorite past times has been to spend the spring season hunting down amazing wildflower blooms...including two years of "Superbloom" seasons in 2017 and 2019.
