SOMIS FLOWER FIELDS by Lynn Bauer - While driving the back roads of Moorpark, I came across this beautiful field of flowers, with views of the distant mountains. This area was at the turn-off for the small town of Somis. The mountains in the background rise up behind Fillmore and Santa Paula. This entire area is known for it's agriculture and farms of different types. California's moderate climate and warm coastal influence make it the perfect place for growing many types of crops...including flowers.
I have spent most of my life living in Southern California where I have developed an appreciation for all the beauty provided by nature. I've been blessed to be able to visit gorgeous mountains, like the High Sierra, which is home to some of the most majestic sights on earth, such as Yosemite National Park, as well as making quick trips to the beaches of the Pacific Coast, if I want to spend an evening shooting a sunset.
