SPRING REFLECTIONS AT THE PARK by Lynn Bauer - The hills are coming to life in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. After years of drought, California has been receiving a good dousing of rain, and the hills are loving it! I went out for an early wildflower scouting trip and came away with this beautiful image embedded in my mind. A normally small pond was filled far beyond it's normal size, giving gorgeous reflections of the emerald green hills beyond. A few early blooming wildflowers were found along the trails, and soon the area will be exploding with their vibrant colors. But, for today...this is the sight that I found to be simply stunning...green hills as far as my eyes could see!! California is always beautiful...but, at times like this, it is truly magnificent!!
