Description
FALL ABOVE MCGEE CREEK by Lynn Bauer - Gorgeous aspen trees at the peak of fall color are a sight to behold at the entrance to McGee Creek in the High Sierra Mountain Range of California. The creek can be seen way at the bottom of this image...but, the star attraction here were these beautiful trees!! Aspens usually turn to shades of yellow, and sometimes orange...but, red is a real treat!! But, whatever the hue, aspens provide some incredible scenery...and, this was some of the best that California has to offer!
McGee Creek is located off of California's Highway 395 between the towns of Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. It is part of the Inyo National Forest, as well as the John Muir Wilderness Area. It is well known for it's amazing fall colors, as well as for it's beautiful wildflowers in the spring. It has wonderful hiking trails both for day trippers, as well as for longer treks back into the further reaches of the wilderness.
